​​“I Actually Don’t Know If Libra Is Going To Work,” Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Testifies Before Congress

Facebook's Multi-Billionaire CEO Mark Zuckerberg appears before Congress to testify about Libra stablecoin cryptocurrency project and has many interesting comments to cover.

“I actually don’t know if Libra is going to work, but I believe it’s important to try new things and innovate,” said Facebook (FB) chief executive Mark ‘Zuckerbuck' while he was grilled by lawmakers over the company's plan to launch a digital currency before a Congressional panel on Wednesday.
Zuckerberg explained that the idea behind its cryptocurrency project Libra is to make sending money as easy as sending a text message and helping the unbanked that includes 14 million US citizens.

Democratic Congressman Brad Sherman of California however, tore into Zuckerberg for his claims of helping poor and unbanked people when “You’ve done no effort to help the unbanked anywhere else and any other time.” Sherman said Facebook is only trying to help the drug dealers and tax evaders.
With the financial industry stagnant, Libra, Zuckerberg believes can solve the problems that the current system is failing.

• Bitcoin (BTC) has settled settle above $8,200 as the upside momentum is losing traction.
• Altcoins are range-bound with bearish bias during early Monday hours. 

Bitcoin has recovered above $8,000 to trade at $8,220 at the time of writing. However, the upside momentum seems to be fading away as all major digital assets are nursing marginal losses during early Asian hours on Monday. The total cryptocurrency market capitalization settled at $222 billion, an average daily  trading volume is registered at $57 billion, while Bitcoin's market share recovered to 66.6%

BTC/USD took off from the support of  $7,800 on Sunday and broke above $8,000 barrier; However, the upside momentum faded away on approach to $8,300. Despite the retracement from the recent high, BTC/USD is trading with 3.5% of gains on a day-to-day basis, unchanged since the beginning of Monday.

Ripple's current market value is registered at $12.6 billion, while an average daily trading volume stays at $1.6 billion, according to CoinMarketCap's data.

​​Telegram Denies SEC’s Claims: Stating That TON's GRAM Tokens Are Not Securities

Telegram reacts to SEC's complaint against the company, contending that Gram, the local digital currency for the Telegram Open Network (TON), isn't a security.

As of late, The U.S Securities and Exchange Commission ordered the well known encrypted messaging app- Telegram, to stop the launch of its token in a “crisis” claim. By October 31st, Telegram would have liked to disperse $1.7 billion worth of pre-purchased “Gram” tokens to its investors however due to the order placed by the SEC it had to put a hold to that arrangement.

As per the document in the court, Telegram pushed back the U.S. regulators by asserting that its Gram token isn't a security. The firm underlined the fact that under the Securities Act 1993, previously Private Placement was regarded as a protection offering compliant by Telegram with legitimate exceptions to enrolment. The firm also stated that with the launch of TON blockchain, the grams will just be regarded as cash or product such as gold or silver, yet not a security.
